Lasers can be used for a wide range of dental procedures. In some cases, they completely replace the conventional treatment, and for other procedures, they are used to complement the existing treatment. In all cases, lasers can achieve better results.
Minor Surgery
Minor surgery performed with dental lasers will heal more quickly than conventional treatments. After a laser procedure, the treated area is left sterilised and sealed and is advanced in the healing process compared to conventional treatments.
Most soft tissue procedures that would normally be carried out with a scalpel and local anaesthesia can now be carried out more quickly and effectively with a laser. Often no local anaesthetic (injection) is required as the laser is virtually painless. No stitches are required and therefore healing can happen up to 5-6 times more quickly.
For example, a cosmetic gum lift across the front six teeth using laser would require you to spend less than half the time in the dental chair, and cost you half as much, as conventional gum surgery. You can achieve a predictable outcome with little or no bleeding and no stitches, and you are unlikely to need post-operative painkillers.
Sensitive Teeth and Fluoride Treatments
Lasers can help people who suffer from sensitive teeth. When combined with a fluoride treatment, certain dental lasers can reduce sensitivity for up to 12 months. The effectiveness of this treatment depends on the type of laser used and varies according to each individual patient.
Dental lasers assist in the uptake of fluoride within teeth. These enhanced laser fluoride treatments are longer lasting and provide better protection for your teeth against decay.

Dental implants are designed to replace one or more teeth. The implants are made of titanium, biocompatible material that is not rejected by the body. The implants hold up the natural bone, stabilising the jaw bone levels and minimise further bone loss. The implants are placed through a quick and minimally invasive procedure.
